This year another great weekend
had been planned. 23, 24 and 25 July were set as dates and this time we
were with eight people. |
| The next morning Tim called us
and asked us in what direction we were camping. He already started early,
as we were expected to camp in the neighbourhood of Maastricht. We were
near Weert... He came back to help us out as well. We found another nut
(not a biker, but for the FZR) at a parts shop and Tim and Tom as well.
Back to the camping place and time to fix the bike. After another hour we were ready to ride again. Off to the German Eiffel we went... |
| Once we arrived at the border
to Germany in the surroundings of Simpelveld we stopped for a bite. From
there we went off and after about 20 minutes we were in Belgium, one road
accidentally went there. Once again we were in the neighbourhood of Malmedy.
And Butgenbach, so we decided to go there. First things first, so we went shopping for the barbecue. Arriving at the camping Tim's homemade exhaust needed a little touch of more craftmanship that was found in an empty beercan. To silence our ride a little... the whole interiour was blown out. Hint: don't make exhaust filled with glass wool... |
| And now: time for the barbecue!!! This is of course one of the moments we have been looking forward too. After the eating fest we drank more beer and went off to the dry lake were we built a campfire. Don and Bart were left alone to empty the remaining beer cans. They went for a stroll in the mud... and reached the other side of the lake. It wasn't that deep! |
| After our swamp night we got up kind of early the next morning. We were unstoppable to go for another great ride in the Ardennes. We had much fun the last day. No motor trouble, only Tim's exhaust was again a little loud... | ![]() |
